Our beliefs & values

Rebuilding Relationships:
We see strong relationships as a basic unit of business productivity. Restoring communication and co-operation leads to better performance. We help people remove the destabilising architecture of conflict and replace it with powerful, motivating alternatives.

Difference & Dialogue: Differences can lead to tension. Dialogue works to create connection and understanding. We use dialogue to dispel stereotypes, build trust and broaden perspectives. We focus practically on what people say and do, their behaviour and its impact.

Potential & Positive: Individuals in conflict often believe situations are irretrievable. Conflict stances are characterised by rigidity and narrowness; the line is drawn. We help people move from negative interactions to more positive behaviours which lead to mutual gain and joint progress.

Conflict & Growth: Conflict presents opportunities for learning, growth and change. Conflict is a signal, a call for attention. Conflict tells us that we could function better to address our issues, and address them together.

Choosing a provider

Mediation is growth market. Here are the questions we would ask if we were sourcing services.

Experience

  • How long have they been mediating or training mediators?

  • When was their last case, how often do they mediate?

  • How long have they been training in-house mediation teams? How many people have they trained in your sector?
  • Is the trainer the ´name on the tin´ or a new recruit?

Success

  • How successful are they?
  • What criteria are used to evaluate success?

Standards

  • Have they had accredited training by an approved provider?
  • Do they work to a code of practice or set of standards?
  • CPD: How are practice standards maintained?

Added Value

  • Many organisations have internal mediators already -What´s being offered on top of what you have already?

  • How does the service or learning build on your existing potential?
