Counselling - Individuals

We apologise as our service is currently suspended. Unfortunately due to high demand in other areas of our business our counselling service is closed and will review the service in September. Please see the link on the right which will take you to the BACP website where you can search for counsellors / therapists.

It is normal to experience times in our life when things become difficult. Counselling is a chance to talk over what is on your mind in a safe, confidential setting.

Counselling is an opportunity for you to share your troubles without being judged or advised; a time for you to address the issues that are important to you. Counselling can help us to recognise the behaviours, thoughts and attitudes that no longer work for us and acknowledge and strengthen the ones that do work for us.

The foundation of my approach is the Person Centred Approach. This approach is built on the understanding that all human beings are constantly striving to do the best they can for themselves. Instinctively we all want to be well and to feel whole. We have inside ourselves the ability to grow, despite difficult experiences we may have had in our lives. People often come to counselling when they feel stuck, lost or confused in some way. The counsellor’s task is to help you find a way forward that is right for you.

You may want to work on a specific issue, or address a general feeling or the quality of your life. Counselling sessions with me offer you the opportunity to understand your self more fully - to celebrate what you like about yourself as well as acknowledge what you are not so happy with.

I provide a safe, confidential space to talk. My approach is accepting, supportive and empathic. I will work with you in helping you address your concerns.

I offer sessions on weekdays and evenings (except Monday day time and Friday evening).

Each counselling session lasts 1 hour and costs £35 per session (Phone & Online counselling £25 per session).

Steve is a member of the BACP and works to their framework on Ethical Practice. Steve has a Diploma in Counselling from the University of Bristol (2006).
