Workplace Mediation Conversion Course Family Mediators

The course content will focus on resolving disputes and conflict in the workplace. Grievance and Discipline procedures changed on the 6th April 2009 with the implementation of ACAS´s revised Code of Practice. The emphasis is on resolution and problem solving with mediation cited as a step prior to formal procedure.

What does this course offer?

Our model focuses on interpersonal conflict and relationship rebuilding and repair. The course offers a practical introduction to transformative mediation. The course will deal with issues such as bullying and harassment and how to help people step back from complaints, formal procedures and threat of investigation. Employers want to maintain and strengthen working relationships as well as get practical win-win outcomes. The course offers a model of mediation which has changed the field of workplace mediation: a model that repairs and rebuilds working relationships.

The course will help you understand how mediation fits with and supports policies such as bullying & harassment, fairness & dignity, equality and diversity, performance management, sickness & absence and stress management.

You will have the confidence to conduct intake and assessments with Human Resources and referring managers, work with union representatives, manage allegations of bullying and accusations of policy and procedures breach within organisations.

“I was astonished at how highly and consistently evaluated the course was. Many of the delegates have cited this as the best piece of training they have had in many years. It has energised the group as well as giving them skills and confidence in workplace mediation. Our mediators really felt they had learned something about mediation and it has given them new tools and techniques that are also relevant to family mediation. This was a large investment for us, and has exceeded our expectations.”
Ian Bloxham, Manager, Bristol Family Mediation

“Very, very worthwhile. This was an extremely productive course. I found that both Steve’s knowledge of his subject and his ability to convey his experience ensured that the course delivered a high quality learning experience within a lively and interactive environment. The content offered not only an introduction to how mediation skills can be used within a workplace setting but also opened up new ideas for consideration within family mediation practice. Many thanks.”
