Team & Group Mediation Training
Adapt and strengthen your mediation skills to work with group dynamics in high performing teams, virtual teams and matrix management. A team dispute will be brought to life involving several parties. Key actors are identified, such as immediate dominant personalities, bystander influencers and the presence or absence of line management function and senior line management influence. Other roles such as HR, Unions, mentors or internal OD can be factored in.
The course gives insights into hidden dynamics, strategies to manage complex relations and issues and the confidence to deploy a range of group skills.
The day will be dynamic and energetic with creative learning strategies and a strong focus on skills practice.
Why go on this course?
The vast majority of mediation training focuses on two person disputes, often role plays are based on a line management relationship in conflict. Most mediation training models can be extended to include a third or fourth participant with careful design and management of the process. Once the numbers reach five or more then the issues, personalities and dynamics can become complicated and take on a life of their own. This can leave mediators feeling out of their depth and overly reliant on control strategies. This can damage rapport, limit information, close down engagement and submerge the real issues.
The course gives insights into hidden dynamics, strategies to manage complex relations and issues and the confidence to deploy a range of group skills.
